Title: Epic Voyage: Delivering the Beneteau Oceanis 39 from Croatia to Qatar

Introduction: In October 2018, the Delivery Captain team embarked on an unforgettable transcontinental yacht delivery, expertly transporting a Beneteau Oceanis 39 from Split, Croatia, to Doha, Qatar. This expedition covered thousands of nautical miles, crossing diverse seas and presenting numerous challenges, all while highlighting our expertise in global yacht delivery services.

Preparation in Split, Croatia: The yacht delivery journey began with a comprehensive inspection of the Beneteau Oceanis 39 in Split, Croatia. Our team performed rigorous safety checks, evaluated all essential equipment, and meticulously handled provisioning to ensure the vessel was fully prepared for the long-distance voyage ahead.

Challenges in the Aegean Sea: Shortly after setting sail, the crew encountered strong winds while crossing the Aegean Sea, leading to a torn Genoa sail. Upon arrival in Rhodes, the local sailmaker confirmed that a full sail replacement was necessary. With the owner’s approval, a brand-new Genoa was sourced and installed within a week, allowing us to continue our journey. However, gale-force winds further delayed our departure. Despite these challenges, the team’s focus on safety and yacht care never wavered.

Navigating the Suez Canal: Upon reaching Port Said, Egypt, the team prepared for the complex Suez Canal transit. Careful coordination with local authorities and proper documentation ensured a smooth passage through this vital maritime corridor. This leg of the journey reinforced our expertise in international yacht logistics and secure global transport services.

Trials in the Red Sea: Exiting the Suez Canal into the Red Sea brought relentless headwinds and challenging conditions. The crew faced fatigue and relentless weather but adapted by adjusting routes for optimal safety. Additionally, modern naval security provided escort protection against piracy, ensuring our safe passage through historically risky waters.

Safe Harbor in Salalah, Oman: A strategic stop in Salalah, Oman, allowed the crew to refuel and inspect the yacht after the arduous Red Sea crossing. Although fuel shortages presented minor challenges, local resources and black market access ensured the vessel remained seaworthy for the next leg.

Final Leg to Doha, Qatar: After over 4,000 nautical miles of determined sailing, the Beneteau Oceanis 39 arrived safely in Doha, Qatar. This voyage highlighted Delivery Captain Limited’s unwavering commitment to safe, professional, and reliable global yacht delivery services.
