About Skipper and Crew Selection:
Delivery Captain will supply the most qualified and professional Skipper & Crew to any boat delivered.
The crew will match the experience required for the delivery ahead.
The selection will also match your insurance requirements. The insurer could require a HIGHER level of crew to match their internal policies, which does not meet the real need.
This is sometimes an excess that we can only satisfy by appointing a higher level of crew to normal jobs or what we believe is easier delivery.
This will be cost-effective and more expensive. We are also able to match locations and destinations to minimize travel costs for all our customers.
Providing Skippers and Crew (where possible) from the closest point to the boat or the closest point to the final destination.
FAQ:
Is the boat ready to sail? What do we mean by that?
A boat is considered ready to sail when she has been fully checked inside-out for any possible damage that could stop her departure.
The engine has had its full certified service, the electrical system checked and fully functional, the navigational system checked and in working order, the sails checked, the rigging and running rigging have been tested, and the full safety pack is in place and not OUT OF DATE!

Can Delivery Captain do this work for me?
Yes, DC can take care of all the above by joining the vessel a few days before the delivery starting date.
What do we mean by a safety pack?
The safety pack includes (but is not limited to): Sat-Phone (IRIDIUM GO), EPIRB, Liferaft, Flares, Fire Extinguishers, Sea Anchor, First Aid Kit, Essential Tool kit box, and MOB kit.
Boat Papers & Manuals: Boat Papers (ownership and VAT-related info) Engine Book and Manuals are very important and MUST be in place and available to the skipper upon his/her arrival.
As part of the boat acceptance, the skipper will go through the boat papers and make sure is all fine.
Insurance: As per International Maritime Low, the Owner of the Vessel is ultimately responsible for anything that happens on the boat.
Some deliveries will travel through difficult countries and additional coverage may be required.
The insurer should be contacted for any delivery and informed that from such a date to such date the boat will be moved from a certain place to another.
Also, the Insurer could request a higher level of the crew to meet their internal policy, sometimes exceeding the delivery difficulty level.
This will make a substantial change to your quote and the final price of the delivery. Please see the Crew selection criteria in detail on this page.
Navigational Instruments/ Communications:
Auto-helm, Nav-System, Plotter and charts (only delivery route), VHF, SSB Radio, Satellite Phone (IRIDIUM GO), EPIRB, AIS, RADAR. STARLINK AVAILABLE.
The Iridium Go is an essential part of our delivery contract. We require this service on all our deliveries Across the Ocean. The Iridium Go is a tool that we use to download weather forecasts and communicate with owners along the way. This enables us to make calls, send sms, send daily positions, send emails, and ultimately SOS/DISTRESS.
In order to work the device needs additional services: line rental subscriptions through Predictwind, plus an additional interface to enable the whole system to work.
Customers are welcome to provide their own system.
We offer the IRIDIUM GO service for € 18.00 per day on a rental basis. This includes line rental, handset, and Predictwind weather offshore App. No additional costs to you and you pay only for what you use.

Please make sure you have registered your vessel to acquire the MMSI and CALL SIGN (this may take up to one month) numbers to link VHF and EPIRB & AIS.

We are still not sure about Elon Musk’s plans for this system. We had a whole delivery covered with a standard plan and a standard dish. It seems that since that delivery back in April 2023 Elon has decided to stop giving away services at €50.00 per month by introducing ROAM that now costs € 250.00 per month. We still believe is worth the money but…will he change his mind again? You better stick to Iridium Go for a little while longer.
