Alubat Cigale 16 Pleione Les Sables D'Olonne to Las Palmas
Aluminium Sail Boat Alubat Cigale 16 Pleione delivered to the Canary Islands Las Palmas.
Vessel Pleione kept the skipper, owner & crew very busy right from departure. Although, they were able to deal with any matter and fix any problem. They manage to cross Biscay before running into the first problem: the engine and autopilot not working properly.
La Coruna is the first stop. The engine and autopilot were fixed and they were able to proceed to Las Palmas. Antigua is their next destination where the most fascinating Caribbean sailing event takes place, Antigua Race Week!
Pleione is a new boat and it is normal to incur some technical problems along the way. This can happen not only on new boats but also on second-hand yachts.
Not using the boat is just as bad and it also causes possible defection and malfunctioning. All our boats are carefully checked and tested before departure to minimize trouble, malfunctioning and therefore technical stops.

We found working with Andrea Ciotoli at Delivery Captain to be efficient, transparent and pragmatic. This is a very professional organisation that provided a skipper for the first leg of our transatlantic crossing – Les Sables d’Olonne to Las Palmas. Claudio was a fantastic, kind and interesting companion on this leg.
He went above and beyond to help deal with teething problems on a new boat that necessitated two unexpected stops (including 10 hours of the emergency tiller following steering failure).
Claudio fitted into our crew and shared the watchkeeping burdens, dealing with any language problems with a smile and good grace.
I would have no hesitation in recommending that anybody needing delivery or a skipper to join the crew (in our case, for insurance requirements on the maiden voyage) should contact Andrea Ciotoli.
He understands the vagaries and specifics of each voyage and does his best to create the right fit for the job.
Best regards
David (Sailing Vessel Pleione)
