La Rochelle is one of the busiest places in Europe when it comes to yacht delivery. The largest France boats produce in fact Is delivered commissioned and collected right here in La Rochelle. Lagoon Fountaine Pajot Privilege Bali Outremer Beneteau Jeanneau Neel Trimarans and more. There seems to be a common problem though; the commissioning companies are struggling to complete their jobs and it seems that it’s all due lack of parts: generators water makers and others. All delaying boats’ departure as final issue. 

We experienced the same problem when our Generator arrived one week later and the weather was not nice either. We left after nearly two weeks of waiting in La Rochelle. We had to stop many times along the way as we could not make it West. Gijon, then La Coruna before Povoa near Porto when finally the weather turned our way to reach Tenerife. 

We really wanted to make Las Palmas, but due to the ARC Rally there was no space, so Tenerife did it for us this time. We had many small repairs booked with NAVALIA ( a good experience) and so we stopped for a few days.

Tenerife was a relaxing stop after all the upwind sail that we were able to leave behind at last. We decided to go to Cabo Verdes as next stop to pick up more fuel and more wind.

The crossing from Mindelo was super fun and fast covering over 2000nm in about 13 days. Barefoot Yacht Charter Manager Thor and his team were waiting for our arrival and we were greeted as never before. Thanks to you all.
