All ready here in Jamaica to deliver Leopard 38 to Panama. Captain Anthony & crew Donovan together with owners Amanda & Antonio are arranging last-minute details before their departure. They will fly off to Panama and our team will carefully sail Maui there. They are busy with their work so this is when a delivery company comes in handy. Once they will arrive in Panama we will be there waiting.
We go through all the necessary steps to make sure the boat is fine and ready to sail out. Owners also give us the final indication on the boat and general overview, plus what to be careful with and all the whereabouts. The delivery will see sailing catamaran Leopard 38 MAUI travel for about 6 days before its arrival in Panama.
Victualling is always fun! Tony (left) and Donovan while shopping in Jamaica. The sailing catamaran leopard 38 has good space and the fridge is also quite capable. Provisioning the boat is a task as we all know, even though a week time will make for most food and aliments to keep fresh. Fruit, vegetable, meat. A good sailor will always plan fishing and not miss out on this fantastic opportunity while out at sea. Fishing is fun and fresh food is on any delivery is a good practice.
Admiring beautiful Jamaica…what an amazing place! Sailing leopard 38 will be fun and of course, preparation gives crew the opportunity to see the place. Jamaica is amongst the best Caribbean islands and surely worth a visit.
Maui is ready to go now and finally, we are out at sea. Leopard 38 was prepared for a sail under three days including the bottom hull clean. Some boats get to seat in marinas for a long time as they are used only for holidays causing unnecessary growth of barnacles and other stuff under the boat. there is nothing wrong with is even though you can keep you anti-fouling up to date it will still happen and every couple of years or so it must be done. Delivery will be very fast now.
Happy Captain Anthony. Always a good feeling sitting on the driver’s seat and sail out of a marina on a nice Leopard 38. Tony ready to drive out at sea heading to Panama. The journey begins finally and all the preparation work is over. Time for sailing this is what we are here for, and at last we go. The weather is not perfect as we learn and as usual we will be ready for it with all due precaution.
Guess who’s catching the fish?….I know this si funny, but everyone has some skills and while out at sea these skills come in very handy. Do what you are good at and don’t try to improvise…And this is the result, a good size Mahi-Mahi. Well done!
Guess who’s cleaning it?… Why is it always the Captain’s Job! This is also a very good point as this is a crucial job, then the Captain should do it.
Approaching Panama. Jamaica to Panama is a 6 days delivery weather permitting of course. Leopard 38 sailing catamaran sailed pretty good and had no problems whatsoever along the way. They experience some bad weather but nothing major. Weather was predicted and it was no surprise. She is now ready to be sailed across Panama by owners and join the Pacific in an exciting new sailing adventure. Happy sailing by all of us at Delivery Captain.
